French roads are much quieter and a pleasure to drive/ride on. Visitors say they can’t believe how quiet the roads are and how relaxing it is. Normandy has stretch after stretch of sandy beaches, the Cotentin peninsula is one big beach.
It’s great to be in the centre of the Cotentin with its beautiful countryside and market towns but it’s also great to be equidistant between the more populated areas of the east coast with its D-Day beaches and the Atlantic west coast which is much quieter. Often you can be on a beach stretching for miles and maybe, just maybe, see another person with their dog in the distance.
Talking of dogs, we are sorry but at this time we cannot accept pets because we have 6 rescue cats (a mother and her four now adult children and another who knows he’s onto a good thing). Some are still very timid and dash into our house/the surrounding fields if they hear a sudden noise (the ride on mower does this every time) but we hope this will ease and then we will be able to change the no pet rule.

The property has two spacious bedrooms. The ground floor bedroom overlooks the garden and has a double sleigh bed. Upstairs is the second bedroom with a double bed and skylight windows and people have said the bedroom in the eaves is romantic! There is an adjoining mezzanine which we have made into a dressing room area for this bedroom and there are plenty of hangers for your use. The upstairs may not be suitable for very tall people as it is in the eaves of the building.
There are wooden floors throughout.
The lounge/diner has a 50″ flat-screen Panasonic TV, DVD and HD Freesat television (UK & French); there is also a selection of DVDs. There is a dining table with 4 chairs as well as a suede and leather three seater recliner sofa and a tub chair. The lounge/diner has French doors onto the patio area and garden.

We welcome two wheelers of any type: cycles, motorcycles and scooters. There’s plenty of storage for panniers, boots, bike jackets and helmets so you won’t be tripping over them in your bedroom at night in the pitch black of the Normandy countryside.
Talking of pitch black, it is! There’s no light pollution, so you can see as far as the eye takes you and prepare to be astounded by the amount of stars to be seen.
